Emanuele Rigamonti

Born in 1997, Emanuele Rigamonti began studying cello at the age of six with Marco Testori. He graduated in cello with honors and in chamber music with honors and mention at the Como Conservatory in the classes of Guido Boselli, Paolo Beschi, and Federica Valli, winning the Franz and Maria Terraneo Prize as the best musician graduated in Como. He achieved the Postgraduate Master in chamber music at Parma Conservatory graduating with honors in the class of Trio di Parma and Pierpaolo Maurizzi, with whom he is still studying. He is also a pupil of Quartetto di Cremona at W.Stauffer Academy. He primarily studied cello with Stefano Cerrato, Enrico Bronzi, and Andrea Scacchi and chamber music with Trio di Parma (Trio di Trieste School in Duino – Trieste) Trio Atos (Accademia L. Perosi in Biella), Trio Caravaggio, Trio La Gaia Scienza, and Iakov Zats. He also attended masterclasses with Damiano Scarpa, Catherine Jones, Danusha Waskiewicz, Klaidi Sahatci, Giuliano Carmignola, and Jan Repko. As a soloist, he won ten first prizes in competitions and scholarships, in particular, he received a scholarship twice during the masterclass of the International Music Festival in Portogruaro – Venice.

With his sisters. Miriam (pianist) and Mariella (violinist), founded TRIO RIGAMONTI, with whom he won a lot of prizes in national and international competitions and performed over eighty concerts. Since 2020 the Trio has been selected to join Le Dimore del Quartetto network. Emanuele is the cellist of ACHЯOME ENSEMBLE and EURYTHMIA QUARTET, chamber music groups specialized in contemporary and 20th-century repertoires. He’s also a member of ON THE BRIDGE – CELLO ENSEMBLE and he has collaborated with the ensembles specialized in historically informed performance on period instruments Fantazyas by Roberto Balconi and Accademia dell’Annunciata by Riccardo Doni.

He has been invited to play for prestigious festivals and associations at Italian concert halls and abroad, like Ateneu Hall in Bacau (Romania), Musikverein in Vienna, Queen’s Museum in NYC, Chamber Music Festival in Rovinj (Croatia), Chamber Music Festival in Lugano, Sagra Musicale Umbra in Perugia, Viotti Festival in Vercelli, International Music Festival in Portogruaro, Amici della Musica in Padua, Carlo Alfredo Piatti Hall in Bergamo, Milano Classica, Mozart
Italia Association in Milan and Trieste and others. As a soloist with the orchestra, he has played Haydn’s Cello Concerto in C at Teatro Sociale in Como and Beethoven’s Triple Concerto at Guido Martinotti Auditorium in Milan.

For Da Vinci – Publishing (Osaka), he has recorded Messiaen’s Quatuor pour la fin du temps (live concert), chamber music works by Davide Anzaghi, Alberto Cara, Federico Biscione and Paolo Coggiola and a CD with the On the Bridge – Cello Ensemble, also as the first cellist. He has also recorded for Arcana (Othere group).

He teaches chamber music at Liceo Musicale G. B. Grassi in Lecco.

He plays a cello made in 1915 by Gaetano Sgarabotto.
